How to Add New Item

Adding New Item In AltheaSuite

Step 1 : Login to your AltheaSuite account.

Step 2 : From the main menu option, go to Products > Items. And click on + New button on the top-left to launch the New Item page.

Step 3 : Enter the product details as follows:

• SKU (stock keeping unit) – The code that identifies the product within your business. For effective tracking and sales reporting, each SKU needs to be unique. SKU is auto generated but if you want can change it. This is a mandatory field.
• Item Name – Enter the name of your product. This is a mandatory field.
• Description – Enter the description of your product. You can describe your product in detail. This is an optional field.
• Category – Select the item category. This is a mandatory field. To create or edit item categories please see the article How to create/edit Item Category.

Step 4 : While creating an item, select the appropriate flags options. For example:

• Has Serial Numbers if the item is serialized
• Has Extended Warranty, if warranty applies
• Other Flags – Select as needed based on the item.

Step 5 : Enter the Item Price details

• • Sales Price : The price at which you will sell the item.
  • Purchase Price :  The price at which you purchase the item. Once you enter the purchase price, it will auto calculate the Margin percentage based on it.

You may also update the Sales Price based on Margin percentage. It will auto update the Markup and profit values accordingly, using the purchase price.

Step 6 : Now, you may select the preferred supplier for the item.

Step 7 : You may attach the relevant financial accounts based on the category selected for the item.

Click “Create” to save the item.

Select “Create & Continue” to save this item and immediately start to creating another new item.

Choose “Create & Clone” to save the item and clone it for creating a similar item with minimal changes.

Importing Item List

AltheaSuite allows you to quickly and easily import your items using Excel file rather than having to manually create all your items. To help you with the import process, AltheaSuite provides the Item Import tool.

The Item Import tool uses the data in an Excel file to create new items. Please see the article Importing Item List.

Item Fields

If your product has options, like color, brand or type, then you can add Custom Fields. Please see the article to learn How to create Custom Fields for Items
