How To Create a Non-Inventory Item in AltheaSuite

To know how to create a non inventory item in AltheaSuite, follow the steps below:

Log in to your AltheaSuite account.

Navigate to Products > Items, and click on +New to add a new service Item.

To create a service item, check the “Is Service Item” box.

Case 1: 

If you are creating a service item like ‘labor charge’ and only select “Is Service Item”, the item will not include any delivery options when creating an order.

Case 2: 

If you are creating a service item like ‘Install’ and want it to include delivery options, you must check both “Is Service Item” and “Is Non Inventory”.

This ensures that the item functions as a service item but can still be scheduled for delivery.

To show the difference between the two service items, we will create an order containing both.

Labor Charge was created with only the “Is service item” flag selected. As a result, the delivery column remains blank since this item does not require delivery tracking.

Install was created with both “Is service item” and “Is non inventory” flags selected. This allows delivery options to be displayed, enabling us to track whether the installation service has been completed for the appliance.
